EverNorth: Self-orienting Map
December, 2004
I created EverNorth as my final project in IE 584 - Introduction to Virtual Reality. In operation, the application places the user inside a maze of cliffs in a virtual world. To help the user navigate the maze, a map is floated in front of them that shows their location with a small red block.
In the physical world, you have to rotate the map manually to orient it correctly (i.e. spin it so North is pointing North). In EverNorth, the map is automatically rotated to the correct orientation in real-time. This application runs in C6 - a six-walled 3D virtual reality installation at Iowa State University.
